For Singapore orders: We use different couriers from time to time, depending on which is faster.

If you received a product with damaged packaging, please complete the following, within 7 days of purchase:

are honest & gentle products natural?

For each product, over 95% is naturally derived, of which more than 85% is used in the ingredients' naturally-occurring state.

We strive for a good balance between harnessing the goodness of natural, as well as ensuring greater product safety and shelf life with ingredients that may not be fully natural.

Do you know that brands claiming to be natural may not be 100% natural? and, if so, do you know how much of that is naturally-occurring?

are your products for men as well?

Yes, we design all products to be both for men and women! Skincare isn't just for women but for everyone.

We believe in inclusivity and diversity, and so we design all our products with men and women in mind.

what’s good about honest & gentle’s products?

For one, we designed our products for sensitive skin, so our ingredients chosen have to be very safe on the skin and do not cause irritation.

We only use quality cold-pressed carrier oils, so your skin benefits the most. cold-pressed oils retain the most nutrients and are gentlest on the skin.

are all oils cold-pressed?

Yes, all our carrier oils (or rather, the base or vegetable oils) are cold-pressed!

For our essential oils, some are cold-pressed while some are steam-distilled, depending on how a particular plant part's essence is able to be extracted.

can I use it if I have sensitive and/or problem skin (e.g. eczema, psoriasis)?

Our products are designed to be gentle on the skin, for people with sensitive and delicate skin.

However, we recommend you to do patch testing by applying onto a small area and waiting a day to see if there are any adverse reactions.

If unsure, please consult your doctor before use.

how do you choose your ingredients / suppliers?

We ensure that each ingredient is gentle on the skin and is not likely to cause any allergic reaction.

We ensure that all our carrier oils are cold-pressed and unrefined, which are much gentler on the skin and so your skin benefits the most from the nutrients retained.

We also source from reliable suppliers who are reputed for quality ingredients, those who support communities around and those who are nearest the country of manufacture as closely as possible, to reduce the carbon footprint. Read more under 'sustainability'.


what’s the shelf life of honest & gentle products?

To enjoy your product at its best, we recommend you to use it before the date stamped on the label, which is not less than 8 months from when you receive it.

why is there a nutty scent?

Great question - your product may have a nutty scent because the shea butter we use is unrefined.

We choose to use unrefined shea butter because more of its nutrients would be intact (being in its natural state), hence benefiting our skin more.

why is my product grainy?

Fret not - your product is not spoilt.

Your product may be grainy because different fatty acids in the shea butter had melted and cooled faster than the others.

This may occur more in the deodorant paste.

The product's effectiveness is not altered and you can continue using it as usual.

are your products safe to use?

Yes, we send all water-containing products to a professional laboratory, for microbial challenge testing, to ensure that the pathogenic organismic content is within safety limits.

Only if a product passes the test do we make it available to you.

Although the test is not mandatory, we would like to put your mind at ease, knowing that you are safe.

Of course, we also test each and every product over an extended period of time on ourselves, our friends and family to ensure that that there are no adverse reactions.

To help impoverished women in Africa, we purchase their 100% handmade, unrefined shea butter that is used in all our products.

That way, any product you purchase makes a direct impact on the lives of the local women.

Our supplier works directly with the hardworking women in Ghana, not only ensuring that their shea butter is of high quality, but also that they are fairly paid, and are supported academically and financially.

Your purchase grants them an opportunity for sustainable income, micro-credit support, school fees, school uniforms and stationery, among other initiatives.

We hope to bring about female empowerment, lending strength to them so they can have a voice.
